About me

Software engineer with a passion for building clean, efficient, and user-friendly applications. My background in animal science might seem unconventional, but it instilled in me a love of problem-solving, adaptability, and a meticulous approach to detail. I'm a soon-to-be Master's graduate (8/2024) in Computer Science, and I've further honed my skills through immersive bootcamps in both Java and JavaScript full-stack development. I thrive in collaborative environments and love applying my technical expertise to create impactful solutions. When I'm not coding, I enjoy exploring the outdoors and trying new eateries. Let's connect and build something amazing together!

fitness-tracker-screenshot

Fitness Tracker, full-stack project

Front-end deployment / Front-end repo / Back-end deployment / Back-end repo / Thanh Nguyen

As the name implies, this app is designed to keep track of fitness activities, allow user to create an account. Authenticated user can create, update, or delete an entry. Back-end Ruby on Rails was a breeze for typical user authentication and CRUD. React framework, along with other JS tools such as Hooks, Axios are surreal, helped creating client so much easier and provided smoother UI for users.

bucket-list-screenshot

Bucket list, full-stack, group project

Front-end deployment / Front-end repo / Back-end deployment / Back-end repo / party-dumpster group

Bucket list app is disgned so that user can create their own account. Authenticated can create, update, delete, or cross out a finished entry. Collaborated with others in my team to finish our first group project using Express.js to create API, and javaScript to create client. It was fun and very productive. The end result was much more advanced and polished than any of us can achieve invidually in the same amount of time.

tiny-world-screenshot

Tiny-World in your hand, full-stack project

Front-end deployment / Front-end repo / Back-end deployment / Back-end repo / Thanh Nguyen

Tiny-World is a travel app, allows user to create account. Authenticated user can create, update, or delete a destination. First time getting my hands on Ruby on Rails to create API, really exicited - want to learn more! JavaScript used to create client. Tiny-World(in your hand) was inspired by my love for travelling and a personal goal I have that started me on this journey.

tic-tac-toe-screenshot

Tic-tac-toe, front-end project

Front-end deployed site / Front-end repo / Thanh Nguyen

The app allows user to create an account, create a new tic-tac-toe game, and keep track of how many games user have played. First project, built a client tic-tac-toe using vanilla JavaScript. I was super nervous going in, but I made it!
